SPACE WHERE YOU CAN BE YOURSELF
Matter is a project of a contemporary social café and bar on the ground floor and a rehabilitation area on the lower, -1, level of the space hosting 3 rehabilitation areas - The Sound Room (speech therapist), The Mind Room (psychologist), and The Body Room (occupational therapist). It is an ecosystem of experiences and care designed to accommodate both people with disabilities and people in the norm in their search for recreation in the city.
Both levels of the space are nearly 500 square meters in total, it is located in the city center of Sofia, in a modern business building, in the heart of the city.
It is also unique because it will have specially designed devices that visualize the sound and make it feelable by anyone with hearing and/or sight impairments. It will be the first of its kind café-bar designed with people with disabilities and different individuals in general in mind,
It has the capacity to provide employment for 4 disabled individuals working on shifts behind the bar and as hosts, 2 managers on site - in rotation, and a minimum of 3 much wanted by the community therapists specializing in pathology cases.
The café-bar area has specially designed spots for people who cannot stand louder sounds (autism) and the furniture is selected by our architect to provide maximum comfort and relaxation on sofas, armchairs, and a swing, enjoyable by everyone.
CATERING WITH A CAUSE
Food is important. Our cold kitchen will provide an environment for therapy to our colleagues and will produce and serve office catering to socially responsible companies in the city.

MUSIC VISUALIZATION
Matter is the only space in Sofia providing sound visualization devices to its visitors, especially to people who have hearing or sight impairments. a science-based sound installation that explores the vibration of sounds in order to create visual and tactile experiences. This piece has a core of social activism, namely creating accessibility tools for the deaf community, as is its signature by enabling deaf children to enjoy musical experiences in a perspective-changing way. Yet, this exhilarating twist in accessing music in a world void of sound not only holds fascinating insights for the deaf but allows everyone to jump in perspective and overcome boundaries of what is considered our "sense of the world".
